Berlin hauptbahnoff

The Berlin Hauptbahnoff is an amazing place, I guessed it was going to be big, yet I was still surprised at the scale of the facility.

We were there to purchase tickets for the train to Lyon; I knew purchasing tickets on a Saturday for Sunday morning departure was going to put a dent in the bank account, I was correct, it hurt.

We had to be back there for our 9:30am departure, no excuses, these tickets are only valid for the day of travel. We had to change trains in Manheim, fortunately, same platform, number 5 just 10 minutes later.

Our travel time was going to be 10 hours, we expected to arrive in Lyon around 8:00pm in the evening, everything going well. Fortunately, for this part of the world, we still had a couple of hours of light left - fantastic.
