The quality of restaurants is undisputed; the vast numbers of tourists to France in general and Lyon in particular ensures the high standards remain, the competition between restaurants is immense.
The lure of low cost, lightweight & independent travel once again beckons. Living in youth hostels & pensions, eating off the side of the road with long cramped rides on buses, trains, ferries carting only what we can carry on our backs. The post GFC environment sees me once again hitting well worn tracks to explore cultures, sights and interact with people.

Lyon restraunt scene
The restaurant scene in Lyon is very vibrant; the choice of fare is both fine and expansive, I am told this city is a world leader in the culinary arts. In the morning, we saw what seemed to be teams of apprentices taking their breaks just before the lunchtime service routine. By the numbers of apprentices indentured in such fine eateries, it is not difficult to see that their training appears to be world class.
